Travelling to Vietnam, the home of his grandparents, Onra went on a serious digging mission which resulted in an album called Chinoiseries, crafted entirely from samples from Vietnamese and Chinese vinyl gather on the journey.

Turning direction again, Onra dropped his opus Long Distance in 2010, tapping into the sounds of 80s boogie, modern soul and funk with a full length composed entirely on the MPC1000.

Parisian beatmaker Onra (Arnaud Bernard) hits Brisbane on Thursday November 10 with a live show at Barsoma.
