No fooling – Walrii and Arku return to the West End for another entry in their monthly night of sub-aquatic beats at the Rumpus Room. The last one was hype on a Wednesday night, and episode two is shaping up to be even bigger. Surprise guests are sure to be digging deep in their crates for rarely-heard gems that will soothe your mid-week woes.

This Saturday 28th March, Dank Morass DJ Danck spins with a selection of hip hop and beat acts at The Step Inn, including highly touted live drum and bass outfit Silent Shadow and the guys to watch (and guests at the last Morass) Science Project. Get in before 10pm for cheap entry ($12/10) and to hear some heavy dust (Danck’s on that MHE/MRR-ADM tip lately).

Capping off a massive week for the Morass (supports for Russ Jones, El-P, Concord Dawn and the inaugural Scuba Tank at Rumpus Room plus an all in mix on 4ZzZ’s Baron Oneway Show) is the Brisbane debut of Philadelphia street bass don Starkey!
Very special support from one of Australia’s leading dubstep producers, 3rd Eye (Sub Continental Dub) plus a rare set from the man like Funkedub, instrumental grime and bass from Suckafish and new beats from Science Project. Dank Morass DJs Walrii and Swob hold it down for the home team.
A measly $15 on the door to catch the leading stateside innovator of the scene they sometimes call dubstep, but really incorporates a whole lot more. It goes down upstairs at The Step Inn, corner of Brunswick St and St Paul’s Tce, Fortitude Valley.

It’s a dirty little secret that Swob and Danck both originally hail from the land of the long white cloud, so it’s appropriate they are supporting NZ’s finest drum and bass export, Concord Dawn tonight, Thursday 4th March, at The Met. The Morass will be dropping dubstep from 9pm. Other highlights of the night include Erther and Dreadknowledge going back to back right before Dawn, and Junglette De La Haye taking on Rude Bwoy Operon. Bounce!

Tonight, the crews that brought Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Joker and The Bug to Brisbane, splash out with some subaqueous downtempo at West End’s Rumpus Room. Expect sideways dub, sticky illstep and crooked hip hop from all selectors in a very relaxed midweek environment.
